The Bears.

They dominated.

They dominated twice vs the Packers.

But they can’t win many other games. How good is Kyle Orton? Well, he did win this week. I believe he is the best of the three QB’s the Bears have started. time will tell.

Today, Brian Urlacher returned an interception for a touchdown for the first time in his career, Adrian Peterson ran for 102 yards, and the Chicago Bears beat the Packers 35-7 on a frigid Sunday afternoon. The loss wiped out the Packers’ shot at home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

This author was OH SO WRONG. I wrote a few days ago about how Favre was going to go nuts and defeat the Bears and do outlandish offensive things to them. DUH. Wrong again.

Favre was at his worst on a bone-chilling, windy and at times snowy afternoon, and the Packers (12-3) took their most lopsided loss of the season.

He passed for just 9 yards in the first half and 153 overall, giving him 4,058 this season and putting him over the 4,000-yard mark for the fifth time.

The Packers needed to win this game, beat Detroit next week and have Dallas lose to Washington to capture the No. 1 seed. Instead, it goes to the Cowboys, with Green Bay locked in at No. 2.

he Bears blocked two punts by Jon Ryan, who also dropped a snap and booted a 9-yarder.

The Packers had gone 12 years and 929 punts without a block before the Bears knocked one down in the second quarter. More damaging was Charles Tillman’s block midway through the third quarter. Graham recovered at the 7 and ran it in for a 28-7 lead.

Early in the fourth quarter, Urlacher juggled the ball after it hit his chest and then returned it 85 yards up the right sideline.

The Bears (6-9) had little to celebrate this season, but they got some consolation by knocking off their archrivals twice. This, by itself, will be enough for Bears fan to be happy….. beating the Packers will be there cry all winter. Kinda reminds me of the Cubs one… “wait til next year!”

It simply won’t happen. Last time the Bears defeated Green Bay 27-20 in Week 5 as the Bears Defense forced 5 turnovers and Griese threw a TD in the 4th quarter to TE Desmond Clark to solidify the victory.

Brett Favre will be phenomenal in this game. He will pass for 275 yds, throw 4 TD’s and maybe, just maybe, run one in! What do you think of dem apples?

Green Bay finds itself locked in a battle with the Cowboys for home field advantage in the playoffs. The don’t/won’t allow the Bears to talk all winter about 2 wins of the Packers.

Packers CB Al Harris vs. Bears KR/WR Devin Hester. The last time these teams played, Hester had only recorded one reception as an NFL receiver. But in the last two games the speedy superstar return man has caught nine passes for 95 yards. He’ll likely run routes against the Pro Bowl veteran Harris, who is one of the best corners in the game and who has two interceptions on the year.
Packers RB Ryan Grant is averaging 110.5 yards per game over the past eight games and aims for his fifth game in a row with a rushing touchdown. … Bears WR Mark Bradley had a career-long 75-yard touchdown reception in the last home game vs. Green Bay.

Projection: Last time these two teams met I had the greatest FANTASY week of my career as I actually picked up Devin Hester and played him to the tune of a bunch of points. Not this time.

Packers 42 Bears 27

What can the Rams do to get better?

Roethlisberger finished the game 16-of-20 for 261 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Najeh Davenport

recorded a career-high 24 carries for 123 yards and a touchdown. It was Davenport’s first 100-yard game since Nov 24, 2004. Steelers RB and league rushing leader Willie Parker fractured his right fibula after just one carry in the first quarter.

Bulger was 18/25 with 3 TD’s and 2 INT’s but the rushing was PATHETIC. Steven Jackson had 85 yds. The Rams need some more offense to compete next year.

The best part of the night was Former Rams RB Marshall Faulk had his no. 28 jersey retired at halftime.

Is he a future Hall of Famer? I don’t think so.

But, there is still some good news in Chi-Town. The 2008 Pro Bowl will include 4 Chicago Bear players:

Lance Briggs(linebacker)

Tommy Harris (defensive tackle)

Devin Hester (return specialist)

Brendon Ayanbadejo (special teams specialist)

This makes three straight Pro Bowls for Briggs and Harris and two consecutive for Hester and Brendon. Congrats to those four and gives Bears fans a reason to watch the Pro Bowl!
